In a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, the retired NBA player responded to Siohvaughn Funches-shocking Wade's court document, stating he is not "surprised" by her "effort to battle Zaya's identification" and "drag [his] reputation through the mud."

Wade, 40, wrote: "I'm quite frustrated that she keeps finding ways to focus herself and HER demands, without consideration to her kids.

He continued, "Over the years, I've given her the chance to get in touch with Zaya's teachers, doctors, and therapists, as well as meet her friends, so she could develop her own understanding of our child's needs for her LIFE!

The former Miami Heat player claimed that Funches-Wade, 41, is a "absent parent" who claims to be a "good Christian mother" but has missed every "recital, graduation, school dance, play date, practice, parent teacher conference, etc." Funches-Wade has not attended any of these events.

It was reported on Wednesday that Funches-Wade, who was wed to the Olympian from 2002 to 2010, objected to her ex-petition husband's to have Zaya's name and gender changed legally in August.

Funches-Wade went to court two years after Zaya came out as trans. The teenager has since been showing off her style by modeling for campaigns and attending Fashion Week events.
